Skiing anyone? Part 1 – Montage Mountain, PA

We have had several guests ask us about local ski places near our country house. So we decided to go and visit the closest few. First we visited Montage Mountain. https://www.montagemountainresorts.com/

So after we ventured into Scranton last Saturday and had an amazing breakfast at Mansours, we headed up to Montage Mountain. It was a beautiful sunny day. The atmosphere was fun with a DJ blasting music, the outdoor firepit, and the food vendors set up. The smell of the BBQ brisket from ‘Food Fire BBQ Tap house’ was mouth watering. Of course even though we had just eaten, we had to order the Brisket over Mac and cheese. So worth it! (and you get 10% off when you show the your lift ticket).

There were ski slopes for all levels. 26 trails from beginner to expert. Come with your own gear or rent. They have a great package for the off days, $30 Ski-for-all on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday includes lift ticket, rentals and group lesson.

We also discovered that in the summer its a water slide park complete with a lazy river. Stay tuned for a blog post on that!

Just down the road are ‘The shops at Montage’. Featured stores like American Eagle Outfitters, Cacique, Chico’s, Christmas Tree Shops, DSW, J.Crew, Loft and many more. They also have a bunch of restaurants if your hungry after the long day of skiing. Food & Fire BBQ-Taproom, Akita Hibachi Sushi, The Gourmet Slice, Harvest Grill and Wine Bar, the Longhorn Steakhouse, Pancheros Mexican Grill, Panera, Starbucks. There is even a Tesla charging stain. And the PNC Field stadium.

So much to do up on Montage Mountain. We had a great day and will be back again soon for some more winter fun. Next we are off to Ski Big Bear Mountain….
